Tamiami Air Show

We had so much fun at the airshow. A friend from church owns three airplanes out of this airport and invited us to come visit. The day was pretty grey and cloudy, so we didn't get to see much flying but we had a wonderful time. The most unfortunate part of the day was when our friend Jim revealed that he had planned to take Kathy up for a ride that day. However, his plane had a rough landing; just the day before, due to heavy crosswinds and there had been damage to the plane. John was sad because he had always wanted to get Kathy a ride in a T-6 Texan after bought him a ride years ago.

Kathy's almost ride! His plane (the entire fleet in fact) is named after his wife, America.

Two planes in formation.

Maybe John should come back and edit this post. Another plane!! :)

John and Jim checking out his plane. I wish the colors were better. I tried to fix them. This was the most beautiful teal blue I have ever seen. Grandma Ortiz would want to paint her entire house this color.

Julia and Daddy flying the bi-plane!

John wondering what took him 5 years...
(possibly the legitimate degree and NOT flying an ultralight!)

Hanging out with the Rocket Man!

(This poor guy wore this costume just for fun - he didn't think that every kid and even the Air Force pilots would want pictures with him - sorry dude!)

John and a DC-9 (maybe - ask him if you need to know for sure)
